Oaktree Products
Oaktree Products became a new client in 2013.
After 20 years of renting and consistently expanding out of their space they made the big leap to building their own building.
IDI worked with Oaktree to:
- Develop the interior furniture layout
- Select interior finishes
- Provide new furniture
- Coordinate their move into their new home
The initial project completion was Summer 2014.
The overall building was a design/build project. The final furniture layout and finish selections were not included in the project.
The project started with a complete inventory of the existing furniture to determine what was available and what could be reused, repurpose or disposed of.
Next step was the final layout of new furniture and then we moved into the finish selections which included:
- Carpet / Tile / LVT (luxury vinyl tile)
- Paint finishes (walls / doors and frames)
- Cubicle panel fabrics, panel paint finishes, desktop laminate colors, drawer pedestal and overhead paint colors.
- Chair fabric choices
- Executive office selections and finishes
- Staff office selections and finishes

Move Coordination
IDI was also responsible for coordinating the move from Oaktree's rental location to their new building.
The relocation for the office was a straightforward effort with bidding out the move and guiding the Oaktree staff in the packing and preparation for the move.
The critical part of the move was the relocation of their warehouse operation which is where the revenue is earned from the packing and shipping of their thousands of products.
The effort started months prior to the move with Oaktree management and staff planning out the new operation of the warehouse and then shuffling of the products to better fit the new warehouse layout.
The move then consisted of wrapping the shelves in shrink-wrap plastic and carefully moving them from their existing space to the new one and finally placing them in the prearranged locations on the warehouse floor. The work ahead allowed for a very efficient move.
The warehouse operation completed all of the shipments early in the morning on Friday and the movers arrived in the afternoon to begin the move. Everything was completed with the office and warehouse by mid-day on Saturday. This allowed the company get set up over the remainder of the weekend to begin packing and shipping by Monday afternoon. The quickness of the move minimized downtime and disruption to the operation.
The warehouse looks like a jumble of boxes placed inside the space. They are all located in specific areas that allowed the production staff to easily locate new products and restock the shelves as the business restarted operations.
