A Truly Rare Find of Six (6) High Back Leather Chairs

The price for this unique set of 6 chairs is $6,500.00.  

Shipping is available as is delivery within a 300-400 mile radius around Nixa, MO  (home of Jason Bourne) in SW Missouri.  Additional charges will be required for the shipping and/or delivery.

Herman Miller introduced this Peter Protzman unique design all the way back in 1971.

These chairs were purchased back in 1975 and have been in and around the family for the past 50 years - yeh a long time.  But alas, they don't fit in with the current decor so it's time for them to  find a new home where they can be enjoyed and loved for another 50 years.

All of the chairs are in the original "classic" brown leather with chrome tubular arms/legs.  The leather is in very good shape, for their age, but could use some tender loving care to improve their overall look.  The chrome is in very good shape on all of the chairs.

These are all the high back version which is a very rare find in the market.

The Protzman chair was characterized by a gentle curve of the arms at all corners.  While it appears that they are square in shape the legs actually have a gentle slope on the front so the top of the "arm" is slightly shorter than the base of the "leg".

The back and seats are attached to the legs at the sides (via the support bar) and then attached together at the bottom of the back and back of the seat.  This provides a unique visual that make the seat appear to be floating inside the frame - very cool.

The chair dimensions are:

  • overall depth 26-1/4"
  • overall width 23"
  • overall height 40-1/2"
  • seat height 18"
  • arm height 26"
  • back height 22-1/2" (from the top of the seat to the top of the back)
  • seat & back width 19-1/2"
